CONTEST: Finish Vel ‘Trokaik’s Poem to Palmer

With February nearing its end, and spring 2016 just a few weeks away, HaloSwallower has found no better time than now to start a contest.

This month of March (on Stormbreak), it is your task to finish hopeless romantic Vel ‘Trokaik’s dual-heartfelt poem to Sarah Palmer. After being spied on and laughed at by some lowly Grunt, we can assume he’s now too humiliated to continue it. But although there’s no enemy core to destroy, he’s not out of this yet.

I saw you standing at your ship
Armored hand on armored hip
Both my hearts began to pound
So lovely was what I found

I love your brightly shining armor
Human named Commander Palmer
I wish that we could…

Your submission must include a total of at least three stanzas, with four lines per stanza. To submit, DM us on our Twitter or message us on our Facebook with the content of your submission. Also, please make sure to include your gamertag so that we can give you proper credit. We will accept submissions between Tuesday, March 1 and Friday, March 25. There will be one winner—the prize is a free 14 day trial of Xbox Live Gold.

That being said, here’s a quick example written by Andycu5:

I saw you standing at your ship
Armored hand on armored hip
Both my hearts began to pound
So lovely was what I found

I love your brightly shining armor
Human named Commander Palmer
I wish that we could for time forever
Destroy the core ourselves together

But until that very distant day
You and I must go our way
To kill enemies, fight bosses best
And capture bases, east to west

Stay swallowy, friends.
