January Update Details Unveiled

image343 Industries has promised us that every month, we’ll receive a hefty, hard drive devouring title update for Halo 5: Guardians. Ever since ‘The Cartographer’s Gift’ (December’s update), fans have been speculating over what we’ll be downloading later this January.

That speculation ends now. The following content will be added in Halo 5‘s next title update:

  • Replacement of all launch maps with remixed variants created from Forge.

  • Reworked playlists, including the removal of Slayer, Big Team Battle,  Breakout, FFA, and Team Arena in favor of a single, ultra-competitive eSports playlist

  • Restricted Warzone and Warzone Assault map rotation to Escape from A.R.C.

  • Completely reduced aim-assist, bullet-magnetism, and all other “crutch” mechanics that make gameplay easier for new players.

  • Removed Forge due to poor fan reception, notably the lack of classic controls.

  • Added new custom game options, armor colors, control settings, and Forge objects to be unlocked through REQ packs.

  • Reworked CSR ranking, including permanent matchmaking bans for players unable to rise above Onyx within three matches

  • Replaced campaign mode with HCS stream. Co-op is still available, but access requires membership in an HCS-sponsored Spartan Company

  • Increased overall emphasis on eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, eSports, and also eSports
